I feel like Sylvester is a great example for children. He starts off so innocently and even when he had all the magic in the world he still wanted to share it with others. When he turned himself into a rock it shows that he might act old, but is still a child at heart. He shows that even if you have all this magic you don't need it. Allyou really need is your family and friends. This shows growth in his character. I do think this story is for a more mature audience. Based on the complex words they use and ideas. If I was a young child I don't know if I would understand all of the words. I like how they made the story some what realistic. In most stories they would just make Sylvester come back after being a rock. This story stuck with the idea that if he couldn't hold the pebble he wouldn't be able to wish.
