Dear Virgie, Don't make your brothers think that you aren't capable of doing the things they can do. You are a string girl and you have a beautiful mind which can be put to use in the classroom. I know living in the South can be difficult as it, being an African-American and getting belittle can be frustrating. I know you can help us change history and make it better for future generations who are living in your time era. It is nice to know that you are making your parents proud by crossing boundaries even when your brothers told you, "Girls don't go to school". Virgie, do you know you're a tough cookie to crack? You make me proud to know that you won't anything stop you from pursuing your dreams. Double standards shouldn't be a issue when it comes to feeding your mind with knowledge to make the world we live in a better place.
Yours truly, Shamequa Lindo
