Miss Nelson is Missing
------ Harry Allard
Dear diary:
The kids in my class were the worst behaved students in the entire school. This class would never settle regardless of how nice I talk to them. Whenever I gave a lecture, they would just giggle and whisper to one another as if I was not there! They were so rude and disrespectful even during story hours. They always refused to listen. I needed to think of something to make them well-behaved. The next day, I stepped in the classroom just when the kids were getting excited about my absence. I had an ugly black dress and a black wig just to disguise myself. I became a completely different person. I told them to open their books with a strict and loud voice just to make them to be afraid of me. The kids were so terrified that they just did exactly what I told them to do. I got rid of their story hours and, instead of that, assigned them tons of homework just to make them busy so they wouldn’t have time to joke around with the others. I stuck to this plan for a few day, just when kids started to miss me or miss my teach style. A couple of days later, I went to the class as Miss Nelson instead of the mean, ugly Miss Swamp. From my experiments over the past few days, I noticed that the students have changed completely. They stopped joking around during class and they were willing to listen and follow my instructions. I guess my plan worked! That was a brilliant idea to adjust their study attitudes. I will keep this secret to myself as if Miss Swamp was real; just in case I have to use it for future classes in the coming years.
Truly,
Nelson
