The poem "The Robber Bridegroom" is a strange story. I was confused when there was a random old lady in the basement. I wanted to know how she got there and why they didn't kill her. Why was she cooking and eating with them, but was still trying to escape herself? After the lady and the bride escaped I also wanted to know where the old lady went. Later on in the story, I thought when the bride told her story from the night she went to her husbands and said, "Sweetheart the dream is not ended", that she was brave. By telling everyone her husband was a cannibal she took a big risk. Everyone could have thought she was lying. Her husband could have done something drastic like killing her or something worse. Luckily her plan worked out for the best and I think it's because she saved the finger so she had proof. This story kept me entertained and was odd, but good.
