In the poem Against Idleness and Mischief by Isaac Watts, there is a little bee that has shown how hard she works everyday. This little bee in my opinion is a young girl just showing how well she can do in school. This girl is trying to improve herself by gathering knowledge (honey) in every class (opening flower) that she attends. This poem isn’t telling the reader how to work hard, its expressing how hard a young girl is working while she is at school. A teacher can represent Satan because a teacher will give work to a student who is showing no effort, or in this case being idle. I also believe that a parent is telling this story or guardian watching their child grow up. This parent discusses how their child is going to school, getting their education while they try to keep their life stable and balanced by allowing playtime in addition to reading and work.
